Lienz & the Dolomites
Lienz is the capital of Osttirol and is also called the sun city thanks to the many hours of sunshine. Lienz is located in the middle of the beautiful Dolomites. The colorful facades, street cafes and small boutiques give the city a southern atmosphere. There are many sights in the city such as the Liebburg at the central square of Lienz, the Antoniuskirchl, the Franciscan monastery and Schloss Bruck, the symbol of the city. A beautiful train and bike tour through the Dolomites that is not to be missed connects Lienz with the Italian San Candido, 40 km away. There are also various walks, ski slopes, sports centers etc. in Lienz. The summer and winter toboggan run "Osttirodler" takes you in no time at high speed from the middle of the Schlossberg back to the center of the city. An experience not to be missed!
Großglockner & Höhe Tauern
The Grossglockner is the highest mountain in Austria, with a height of 3,798 metres. The Grossglockner can be reached via the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, which runs from Heiligenblut to Zell am See. The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is a 47.8 km long road with many (numbered) bends. The Grossglockner Pass is a 2,505 metre high mountain pass on the border between the Austrian states of Salzburg and Carinthia. This toll road is only open in summer, in winter it is used for skiing. Exhibitions and museums, huts and restaurants, visitor centres and information offices bring the diverse mountain world with its fauna & flora into the spotlight in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The pass, which integrates harmoniously into the landscape, provides a unique mountain experience for young and old!
Carinthia
Mörtschach is located in the southernmost state of Austria. Here the temperature is often higher from May, the meadows and trees are greener, the lakes warmer and the people are therefore in a better mood. The proximity of the Mediterranean Sea usually ensures an almost Mediterranean climate with an unusually high number of hours of sunshine. Carinthia has more than 1200 lakes and ponds , including 200 drinking water-pure swimming lakes, mountains of all sizes and landscapes with vast plains, rolling hills or beautiful valleys. This makes the region on the southern edge of the Alps an ideal place for an eventful, special holiday with activities for every taste . In addition to summer activities, there are also numerous ski areas such as the Großglockner Resort Heiligenblut just a 15-minute drive from Haus Kelly and the Mölltaler Glacier 30 minutes away.
